About Jamie
Jam On Toast was created by Jamie (James Madsen), a passionate music educator, composer and performer. He studied Music Education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, learning piano under Stephanie McCallum.
The music from his Jam On Toast project came about from years teaching music in the classroom to young children, adding his own original repertoire of songs, dances and creative activities to his programming.
With a focus on creative thinking Jamie incorporates a unique blend of approaches to music education, combining aspects of Orff-Schulwerk, Kodály and Dalcroze Eurhythmics. The music, dances and recipes from the series of Jam On Toast albums and teaching resources has been designed to inspire a love of music with children and an awareness of musical concepts.
Along with his Jam On Toast project, James also composes a range of other music including choir and vocal music, solo instrumental repertoire, chamber music plus a range of other music education resources for ensembles and the classroom.
