Pessimism~Optimism is a work for piano and chamber strings for intermediate-advanced players. A piece with two conflicting emotive themes, one the more dramatic and draker pessimistic motif, while the other is a lyrical and uplifting optimistic motif. The themes develop throughout the piece centred around a wonderful meditative violin solo with a textural accompaniment from the rest of the string ensemble.
